Tef-Gel® is a synthetic based PTFE waterproof lubricant with anti-corrosion and anti-seize properties. Tef-Gel® does not break down in salt water or detergents. Tef-Gel® is a US Navy specified non-lanolin synthetic formulation. Lanolin, (an extract of wool) used as the base for the popular anti-seize product can absorb small amounts of moisture which will allow for corrosions and seize your stainless steel to aluminum joint after a few years. The paint will blister in the surrounding area.

Use a dab of Tef-Gel® when connecting to aluminum with stainless steel screws. Tef-Gel® will eliminate the risk of galvanic corrosion and the paint blistering it causes not to mention that you will be able to unscrew the fastener years from now when you may have to.

Tef-Gel® comes in a handy 28g (1oz) syringe complete with a little applicator brush. As you need so little, this will last you a long time, and ensure that your aluminum surfaces look great.

During my years in the Aerospace industry, I used many Hi-tech products not available to the public. Twelve years later I am still applying my Aerospace knowledge to my career in the Marine industry.

The most common problems I see in the Marine industry are: BLISTERING, CORROSION, RUST, GALLING and SEIZING of metals. To eliminate this, I discovered a PTFE compound that when properly applied, eliminates blistering, corrosion, rust, galling and seizing of hardware in marine environments. I called this compound TEF-GEL®. Its space age design doesn't break down in salt water or detergents. TEF-GEL® is a thick white paste made of PTFE, a compound which is impervious to salt water. Water never gets past it.

TEF-GEL® has never failed me! This stuff works, I've got whisker pole mount, radar mount, deck light, and light shroud all screwed or riveted to the mast with this stuff in the threads or between the steel rivets and the aluminum mast and after 4 years, there is no sign of galvanic corrosion in threads or otherwise. It is good stuff.
